Enjoy yerba mate harvesting on a precious natural beach with the whole family.

Shiraishi Beach is the best place to catch a lot of yerba mate. This is the only natural shallow beach left in Kanda, where reclamation and development of the coast is under way. At low tide, it is possible to walk to the offshore area, and it is very popular with families, even with small children, who can go tiohigari in peace.
When salt is poured into the hole, the yerba mate shellfish mistakenly thinks the tide is rising and pops out of the hole. The key is to catch them quickly! Even children can easily catch them. The recommended season is from February to May, when you can catch clams and akemi clams as well as yerba mate.

Be sure to take your rubbish home with you to protect this precious natural beach.
