Mizumaki Town Cosmos garden on the banks of the Onga River

水巻町　遠賀川河川敷のコスモス園

Riverbank park with beautiful cosmos flowers carefully nurtured by volunteers.

The cosmos garden is located on the banks of the Onga River, which flows west of Mizumaki Town. More than five million cosmos plants, which are cultivated and managed by local volunteers from sowing seeds to cultivation, bloom with beautiful, colourful pink and white flowers from mid- to late-October every year. The 6 km cosmos road along the river is a sight to behold.

The riverbed is well maintained and is loved by locals as a training and cycling road for walking and running.

The Cosmos Festival, usually held in October at the adjacent Midorin Park, is recommended for families as there are events and stalls for children.

Car Park There are five locations on the riverbanks (Inokuma, Koga, Eburi, Tateyashiki and Isaza).
Hours of use 7:00am-7:00pm (free of charge).
Medium-sized and large buses are not allowed.
Access 40-minute walk from JR Mizumaki Station.
*We recommend using a taxi from Mizumaki Station if you arrive by JR.
