designated as a natural monument. It can be enjoyed all through the year: Noyaki (burning the dead grass in a field) in spring, fresh foliage after Noyaki in early summer, and pampas grass fields in fall. The entire area is designated as part of Kitakyushu National Park. Good for hiking.
