General Headquarters Park

大将陣公園

Park with lots of playground equipment and a good view of the observatory at the top.

A nature-rich park stretches across the area of the 112 m-high Oshojin Mountain. From the top you can see the whole of Iizuka city, and the observatory 'Oshojin Stardome' is open for viewing on the second and fourth Saturday of the month.
The park has playground equipment such as climbing ropes and Tarzan ropes, as well as a giant playground complex, which is very popular with children.
The park is also known as Iizuka City's best cherry blossom viewing spot. Every year from late March to early April, approximately 2,500 Someiyoshino cherry trees bloom, welcoming visitors with a beautiful tunnel of cherry blossoms. The Daishoujin Cherry Blossom Festival is usually held in early April, with stage events, rice-cake making, bazaars and other events, attracting many cherry blossom viewers.

The Daishojin Cherry Blossom Festival will be cancelled in 2022.
