Shikanoshima, a land-locked island that appears in Manyoshu, is a scenic spot where the national treasure, the golden seal of the King Han Kun Kun Kun, was discovered.
A drive via Uminonakamichi through Mongolian mounds, the Golden Seal Park and other historical sites on the island is recommended. Also famous as a leisure base, it is a spot where you can enjoy nature to the full, including swimming, fishing, scuba diving and motocross.
Size: 11 km in circumference, 5.8 sq km in area.
