Japanese Garden at Ohori Park

大濠公園日本庭園

Construction of the Japanese strolling garden in Ohori Park began in 1979 to mark the park’s 50th anniversary. The garden, comprised of small hills, groves of trees, and ponds, opened to the public in 1984. It was constructed with its basic concept being to express classical Japanese beauty through traditional garden-making techniques.
A winding stream, Zen garden, and a teahouse built in the style of a tea-ceremony pavillion along with its adjacent garden are laid out around the highlights of the garden (a large pond and landscaped hills) so that visitors can visit each of them on their stroll.
Pamphlets printed in English are available for visitors from overseas!
