Located in the heart of Fukuoka City by the lakeside of Ohori Park, the Fukuoka Art Museum houses a rich collection of over 16,000 pieces of art ranging from antiquities to modern and contemporary art. At the entrance, visitors are greeted by towering, colorful sculptures. The museum displays a wide variety of artworks, including world-class masterpieces by Dali, Warhol, and others. In addition to paintings and sculptures, visitors can also experience the charms of various art genres such as ceramics, dyeing, and weaving.
The museum hosts a variety of exhibitions throughout the year and serves as a venue for local artists to showcase their work.
The museum store sells original merchandise based on the collection, as well as art replicas, and goods created by local creators. Traditional Fukuoka crafts such as Hakata textiles and Hakata dolls are also available for purchase, making them ideal souvenirs or mementos of your trip.
If you want to enjoy the afterglow of art appreciation, head to the café/restaurant inside the museum. The beautiful scenery of Ohori Park spreads out before your eyes, and the natural scenery reflected on the quiet lake will give you a moment's peace and tranquility.
