Fukuoka Art Museum

Located in the vast public oasis that is Ohori Park, Fukuoka Art Museum displays pre-modern art related to the area, modern art of artists from the region, and 20th century art. The first floor is a pre-modern art zone where visitors will find a collection of tea ceremony utensils, “The Matsunaga Collection” Gallery, the “Buddhist Art from the Tokoin Temple” Gallery, and the Pre-modern Art Gallery. In the modern art zone on the second floor are the Modern Art (which introduces the 20th century modern art of Japan and other countries), Prints and Drawing, Temporary Special Exhibition, and Civic Galleries. These Civic Galleries are used for special, group, and individual exhibitions that occasionally take place.
