The Cosmos Field of Kanzeonji Temple

Located in Dazaifu City, Kanzeonji is an ancient temple established in 746.
It once prospered as one of the main temples of Kyushu and hosted numerous edifices in its heyday.
The Buddhist temple bell on its premises is said to be the oldest in Japan and has been designated as a National Treasure (currently on display at the Kyushu National Museum).
In autumn, you can enjoy vibrant cosmos flowers blooming in the cosmos field that spreads out to the east of the temple. Around 700,000 cosmos flowers reach full bloom from early to late October, carpeting the area in a beautiful pink color.
