Among the oldest railway ruins in Kyushu Red Brick Arch

九州最古級の鉄道遺産 赤レンガアーチ

In 1890, the Kyushu Railway (The JR’s predecessor) was constructed by a German engineer utilizing a British construction method. The appearance of these railway ruins gives them a strong presence-- just one look at the antiquated and bulky retro arch bridges and you’ll feel like you’ve slipped back in time to the Meiji period.
The oldest arch bridge in Kyushu, these atmospheric railway ruins are recommended for railroad fans.
