The view of Sanri Pine Grove from Mt. Yugawa
湯川山から望む三里松原
A beloved beach of white sands and green pine trees. The pine grove continues from Okagaki to Ashiya, and loggerhead turtles visit this beach to lay their eggs. Okagaki and Mt. Yugawa are located on the border of Munakata City at an altitude of ~470 meters. Near the mountaintop is a spot where you can take in all the scenery, with the Sanri Pine Grove’s coastline stretching from here all the way towards Ashiya-- a truly picturesque sight. You can gaze out across the beautiful view formed by the contrasting blue ocean, white sands, and green Sanri pine grove. In spring, there are rows of sakura trees along the roads, centering around the Narita-san Fudo-ji Temple halfway up the mountain. When the sakura come into full bloom during the spring flowering season, they dye the roadsides in their pink flowers, forming a ’sakura road.’
