The Sarayama Area which Marudai Pottery is located in is the Koishiwara Pottery’s representative area where potteries have been concentrated since a long time ago. The 15th owner, Mr. Kazuya Ota says, ”I want to keep protecting what I can without denying new things.” In the gallery, works of the previous owners are also displayed letting customers see the history of Koishiwara Pottery. ”I want to produce Koishiwara potteries which can be used in modern people’s daily life”, says Mr. Ota. The simple, straight wish can be seen on his each work.
