翁明窯元

The Omeigama’s plateware is cute and lovable. Customers frequently ask, “A young lady made this?” The potter is the pillar of Koishiwara pottery, Mr. Bunmei Onimaru, 70 years old. He says, “I would like to open up a new world without being bound by tradition and technique too much.” The polka-dot plateware is his original. Since it is popular among young people, it became an Omeigama’s regular item. Mr. Onimaru is seeking the future of Koishiwara while working hard with his son, Mr. Naoyuki who has also chosen to be a potter.
