Ino River
猪野川
Fukuoka's best water sports spots! Popular for its proximity to the city center, only about 30 minutes away!
The Ino River is a clear stream that flows through Hisayama-cho, Kasuya-gun. Genji fireflies live in the Ino district upstream, and a fantastic firefly dance can be seen every year from late May to early June.
The riverbank in front of the Ino-Amateru Kojingu Shrine (Ino Shrine), called the "Ise-san" of Kyushu, is a great place to play in the water! In summer, many families come to enjoy the coolness of the clear, cold stream. In the shallows, even small children get excited while observing crabs, killifish, and other water creatures! This is the perfect place to stimulate their curiosity.
The Isuzu River, also called Isuzu-gawa after the Ise Jingu Shrine, is a place of recreation and relaxation for citizens, where they can enjoy the scenery throughout the four seasons, including cherry blossoms and autumn leaves.
