Sengoku Gorge

千石峡

An excellent driving course with beautiful valleys along the prefectural road

Sengokukyo is a beautiful 2-km-long gorge along Prefectural Road 471 downstream from Rikimaru Dam. It is a scenic spot created by the Yagiyama River flowing through the valley at the foot of Mt.
Parks, campgrounds, and suspension bridges surrounded by greenery are scattered throughout the area. A promenade is maintained along the valley, where visitors can enjoy the seasonal scenery such as cherry blossoms and azaleas in spring, fireflies dancing in early summer, and autumn leaves in fall.
During summer vacation, the waterfront park along the riverbank is crowded with families enjoying barbecues while listening to the cool sound of the river, and children's bright smiles burst forth as they play in the cool river water.
A casual drive through the area is also a great way to enjoy the rich and beautiful scenery.
