Koinoki Shrine

恋木神社

Overflowing heart motifs! Power spot for love fulfillment

Koinoki-jinja Shrine has been located since the middle of the Kamakura period (1185-1333) as the last shrine of Mizuta Tenmangu Shrine, and enshrines "Koinomikoto," a deity that is rare in Japan. It is said that Koinomikoto was enshrined here to comfort the soul of Sugawara Michizane, who must have thought of the emperor and his wife and children in the capital until he ended his life in Dazaifu.
Various events are held throughout the year at Koinoki Shrine, including a good-marriage fulfillment festival, an ema dedication ceremony, and a Koimusubi festival.
The Koi approach leading to the shrine is lined with heart-shaped ceramic plates, and the crest of the temple, amulets, omikuji, and ema (votive picture tablet) also have heart-shaped designs! The shrine grounds are filled with countless hearts, and just by placing yourself there, you will feel tender and full of love.
This is a power spot that should be visited by all those seeking a good marriage.
