Kanda Town Fishery Cooperative Association "Buzen Sea One Grain Oyster
苅田町漁業協同組合「豊前海一粒かき」
A winter delicacy grown in the nutrient-rich Buzen Sea! Large, plump, rich oysters!
Fukuoka brand oysters are cultivated in the Buzen Sea (Suo Sea) and are sold in their shells, hence the name "one-grain oyster". Oysters grown in the sea rich in nutrient-rich phytoplankton grow quickly and are ready for shipment in about eight months. They are characterized by their larger size compared to regular oysters. The taste and filling of the oysters are also highly reputed, and you will be addicted to the smooth texture of the large, plump oysters when you put them in your mouth!
You can enjoy the taste of oysters from December to February. There are direct-sale shops around Kanda Station and near the Kanda Fisheries Cooperative Association, so you can enjoy the taste at home as well. You can enjoy the taste of oysters not only fried or grilled, but also in a wide repertoire of dishes such as oyster stew and oyster rice.
