This community-based direct sales facility is symbolized by a mural of vegetables created by high school students and yellow and green awnings.
In addition to vegetables picked in the morning directly from farmers, the store's policy is to offer inexpensive, fresh products, with items displayed by the town's butcher stores, sushi restaurants, confectionary stores, and other businesses.
Mizumaki Deka Garlic, a specialty of Mizumaki Town sold only from July to September, is the pride of this region! As its name suggests, it is jumbo in size, about 4 to 5 times larger than normal. Producers in the town grow them with great care, using almost no pesticides. It is characterized by its freshness and lack of odor, and when cooked, it has a crunchy, sticky texture and a deep flavor similar to that of lily bulb or potato.
Processed garlic miso and powder are popular as they broaden the range of dishes, and farmers' handmade pickles and miso are also popular. Many repeat customers seek out the processed products, which can be purchased year-round. Please be sure to buy safe and secure local foodstuffs with the producer's name on them as souvenirs.
