The impressive red-brick and white exterior of the Metase no Mori produce center is reminiscent of Provence in the south of France. A wide variety of locally harvested morning vegetables and fruits line the store shelves.
Chikujo Town, located in the eastern part of Fukuoka Prefecture, specializes in sweet corn, strawberries, and figs. We especially recommend the "Toyomitsuhime" figs, which have been bred as a Fukuoka brand! They are characterized by their juicy and sweet taste. In addition to Fukuoka's representative rice, "Yume Tsukushi" and "Milky Queen," there is also a wide variety of fresh seafood caught in the sea of Buzen! The store also offers a wide selection of reasonably priced boxed lunches and processed foods, including pickles, furikake, ham, and sausages. Among the most popular items are chips and powder of "Kikuimo," which has been attracting attention for its potential to lower blood sugar levels.

Since Metase no Mori is adjacent to the Air Self-Defense Force Chikujo Air Base, another feature of the store is the availability of Self-Defense Forces goods. The troop cafeteria curry made with the cooperation of the base has become a topic of conversation and has been introduced on TV.
The grounds include a playground, a grassy park, and a promenade lined with metasequoia trees, which many families visit on a sunny day for a picnic.
