Heisei no Mori Park
志免平成の森公園
Located next to Shime Minami Elementary school, Heisei no Mori Park is surrounded by woodland and is abundant with nature. The park has a grassy open space with a barbeque area. When you make your way into the woodland at the back, you will arrive at a lookout area after about 10 minutes. Nearby, there is wooden playground equipment and an adventure playground with equipment such as a balance beam and a rope swing, perfect as a play area for children. Head off to investigate history after you get tired of playing. In the Itabi garden there is a stone monument, the Yoshihara no Itabi, which is said to have been erected by peasants during the Northern and Southern Courts period. If you continue further down the trail you will arrive at the Matsuno Tomb. You can immediately return to the grassy open space from the tomb garden by riding the 103m long roller slide. There is also a 20m mini slide next to it which is reassuring for small children.
