This is the largest shopping mall in the southern Kyushu area, and it is directly connected to Kagoshima Chuo Station. Enjoy shopping until it is time to take the train. From the ferris wheel on the roof, you can take in a panoramic view of Kagoshima City and Sakurajima.

This is a limited express sightseeing train that runs between Kagoshima Chuo Station and Ibusuki Station, offering must-see views of the beautiful scenery of Kinko Bay (Kagoshima Bay) and Sakurajima. For lunch, buy a bento (lunch box) and eat it on the train! The Ibusuki no Tamatebako Bento is also a popular choice. This is a bento packed with delicious Kagoshima specialties, and is reserved in advance and collected on the train.

Sunamushi onsen is a Japanese-style sauna that involves getting a good sweat by covering the body in sand which has been warmed by a natural hot spring that gushes out on the beach. After emerging from the sand, visit the large communal bath for a soak in the onsen to enhance the detoxification effect!

    Nagasakibana is also a spawning ground for sea turtles. According to the Ryugu legend, the cape of Nagasakibana is where Urashima Taro set off for the undersea palace of Ryujin (the Dragon God) on the back of a sea turtle. There is also a Ryugu Shrine dedicated to Princess Otohime who appears in the legend. It is a popular spiritual spot dedicated to success in affairs of the heart and finding a soulmate.

    This cape juts out at the southernmost tip of Satsuma Peninsula, and Satsuma Nagasakibana Lighthouse, painted in stark white, stands at the end of the pathway. From the cape, you can look out onto Mt. Kaimon, also known Satsuma Fuji. On a clear day, it is possible to see as far as Yakushima, as well as Iwojima of Mishima village.

      Upon arriving on Shikanoshima, rent a bicycle from Shikashima Cycle and go for a ride around the island! The circumference of the island is about 12 km, so you can circle it in about an hour. The rental shop offers primarily sports bikes, including hybrid bikes and mountain bikes.
