The Port of Moji (Mojiko) is an international trade port opened in 1889 located at the northern edge of Kyushu. As it grew prosperous, Western-style buildings housing shipping companies and trading firms sprang up around it. The Moji Port Retro district pays homage to this period with restored reproductions of buildings found in the district from those times. Various buildings are open to visitors: the iconic Mojiko Station, the former Moji Mitsui Club which once hosted Albert Einstein, and the former Kyushu Railway Headquarters which is now the Kyushu Railway History Museum. Enjoy a walk through the era of the late 19th and early 20th century in this quaint area of Kitakyushu City.

【Day1】13:15 Stroll at Kokura Castle, Kokura Castle Garden, Shiro Terrace
Stroll the grounds of Kokura Castle home to monuments to the great swordsmen Miyamoto Musashi and Sasaki Kojiro. Although the castle is a reconstruction from the original that was built in 1602, its appearance of an era gone by contrasts dramatically with the ultra modern Riverwalk Kitakyushu shopping and entertainment center nearby. Stroll through the Kokura Castle Garden in front of the tower to enjoy its peaceful scenery and a stunning view of the castle framed by elements of the garden. Shiro Terrace between the castle and the garden is a newly built facility to take a break from your walk. Enjoy a refreshment at the tea shop and pick up some unique souvenirs to bring home.
