Kitakyushu Manga Museum

北九州市漫画ミュージアム

The Kitakyushu Manga Museum is located on the 5th and 6th floor in Aruaru City, which is home to a lot of pop culture stores. It is close to JR Kokura station. The museum consists of three themes; "look," "read,"and "draw.
70,000 volumes of various comic books by Japanese authors can be read freely in the reading corner. This includes manga from artists of Kitakyushu City, such as Leiji Matsumoto, Watase Seizo, Hatanaka Jun, Hojo Tsukasa etc. In addition, you can see foreign manga translated into Japanese and other manga published overseas. In the planning exhibition room, you can see traveling and original exhibitions related to manga, and we will occasionally hold manga drawing workshops and talk shows.

Remarks A leaflet in different languages(English/Unsimplified and simplified Chinese/Korean/Thai) is available.
There is a system (jaj) for using your own smartphone to receive audio guides in many different languages (English, Chinese (simplified), Chinese (traditional), Korean, Thai) explaining the contents of the permanent exhibitions.
