Koishiwara and Takatori Pottery Experience

小石原焼・高取焼 陶芸体験

Originating in the early Edo Period (1603-1868), Koishiwara and Takatori Pottery are two traditional types of earthenware that hail from Toho Village in southern Fukuoka Prefecture. Koishiwara Pottery is famed for its soothing simplicity, with each vessel designed to fit seamlessly into your day-to-day lifestyle. Takatori Pottery uses natural elements from the surrounding environment to create timeless, elegant ceramics used for tea ceremony. Stroll around Toho Village and visit one of the 40-odd active potteries here or book a pottery workshop to make your own. Artisans will guide you through the process from clay ball to final masterpiece. Please allow at least a month for delivery of the final product.
