Nyoirinji Temple(Frog Temple) Wind Bell Festival
如意輪寺(かえる寺)風鈴まつり
The cool sound of the wind chimes, filled with wishes, echoes through the precincts of the temple.
Also known as "Frog Temple," Nyoirin-ji Temple welcomes visitors with approximately 10,000 frog figurines. The wind chimes are meant to ward off evil spirits, and thousands of them are decorated on the temple grounds with wishes written on them for safe passage through the summer. The sight of colorful strips of paper attached to the wind chimes swaying is fantastic. The cool sound of the wind chimes will make you forget the summer heat.
The wind chimes will be displayed from June 1 to September 30, and the many wind chimes swaying in various places are very photogenic. During this period, many tourists, from families with children to elderly people, visit the temple.
*Wind chimes will be sold for 500 yen each at the temple grounds, but you cannot take them home with you. Please write your wish on it and dedicate it.
